The German luxury car maker BMW India, the country's leading luxury car brand, will reportedly introduce a coupe version of its top-of-the-line sedan, the 6 Series, by next month and a convertible version of the 3 Series before the year end, according to a report in The Economic Times. The report stated that the company launched the 6 Series as a convertible in March and has so far sold 60 units of the car which carries an ex showroom price of Rs. 95 lakh.

The report quoted Andreas Schaaf, president, BMW India as saying "Since 2009, we have been the market leader in the premium segment, with a market share of over 40 percent. We maintained that leadership position last year as well and if we sell 10,000 units this year, as we are on track, then our market share in the premium segment will be 49 percent," he said. BMW India has sold 5,364 cars from January-July 11. Vcommindia News
