Honda Siel Cars betting big on the new small car Brio and newly priced Jazz

Japanese auto giant Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) which had been content with the mid size segment leadership with City sedan and other sedans and SUVs is now eying the small car market for some aggressive growth.

According to a report in Business Standard, though Honda had Jazz premium hatchback in its stable, the higher pricing had been a constraint and now with the reduction of the price by Rs 1.6 lakh, the sales have got the momentum going. The report states that with volumes for the Jazz hatchback looking up and the launch of the Brio around the corner, Honda Siel plans to increase production at its Greater Noida plant to one lakh units annually by December, a major milestone for the company. It was also reported that Honda Siel is planning to increase the output to 1.2 lakh units annually, with the option of utilising its second plant at Tapukara, Rajasthan in next couple of years.
