New Swift all set to replace WagonR as second best selling model in Maruti Suzuki's portfolio

While the July sales indicated a negative growth for the country’s largest passenger car maker Maruti Suzuki aided by stopping of the production of its premium selling model Swift, the coming months promise a surge in sales with new version of Swift launching on August 17.

 According to a report in The Business Line, the new version of Swift is expected to replace the WagonR as both Maruti's and the industry's second highest-selling model after the Alto with monthly sales of around 18,000 units. According to the report, in this fiscal, the Alto sold around 34,000 units a month (in July, it dropped to 25,000 a month), followed by the WagonR at 14,000 units a month. It was mentioned that these are the two top-selling cars for the industry as well, followed by Hyundai's i10, with sales of a little over 10,000 units a month this fiscal. Other competitor brands, such as the Volkswagen Polo, the Skoda Fabia and the Hyundai's i20 are far below in the ranking. Vcommindia News
