Volkswagen reports 151 percent growth in July sales

European automobile major Volkswagen India which has had rather good reception from the inception in Indian automobile market has reported 151 percent increase in sales during July at 6,529 units as against 2,597 units in the same month last year.

 It was reported that the compact car Polo and the sedan Vento continued to be the backbone for the brand, with a total of 6,353 units sold in July 2011. Volkswagen also sold 109 units of Jetta during the month. The company said that the new Jetta is scheduled to be presented in India on August 17, 2011 in Mumbai. Vcommindia News
