China is looked for production deal possibility by Jeep

FRANKFURT – CEO of Jeep Mike Manley looked forward to negotiate a deal in the coming weeks that will result in Jeep production in China.

Manley recently departed for China to discuss about the deal with a Chinese company Guangzhou Automobile Group Co Ltd. that has a joint venture with Fiat.

“Fiat has a very strong partner there so I will be discussing various options with them,” he said during an interview at the Frankfurt auto show. “If I can localize Jeep you are going to see many, many multiples of what we sell today.”

Manley also has the responsibility for marketing the Fiat Group’s brands in Asia.

Currently the Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, Patriot and Compass are imported and sold in China.Vcommindia News
