Accusing Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi of ignoring development of Saurashtra and Kutch, an industry body has asked the Centre to direct carmaker Maruti Udyog (MUL) to set up its proposed new production facility in one of the two regions. Saurashtra Vyapar Udyog Mahamandal (SVUM) has written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seeking his intervention to set up the facility in Saurashtra or Kutch. In the letter, Parag Tejura, President of SVUM, has said, "The two regions are known for their SMEs like light engineering, automobile parts, brass parts and foundries. Many units from the regions are suppliers to the automobile manufacturers in and out of India."Vcommindia News
