NEW DELHI: Domestic sales of cars a negative trend for the second consecutive month in August, with the best in the country, three car manufacturers - Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Tata Motors - report a sharp drop in the number of expensive loans and held off fuel buyers.
However, in vehicles like Honda Siel Cars, Volkswagen, Toyota Kirloskar, General Motors, Ford and Mahindra & Mahindra won, thanks to price cuts and new releases. On Thursday Maruti Suzuki declared that it sold 77,086 units in the domestic market last month, down 16.8% from 92,674 units in the year-ago month.
