EcoSport from Gen Ford is likely to debut in India

It is in the air that Ford Motors is expected to display the new generation EcoSport mini SUV in the next Beijing Motor show. The test mules of the mini SUV are reported to be spotted near Ford's plant in Chennai apart from the similar cases from the overseas. The India bound Ford EcoSport mini is anticipated in India by next April. The mini SUV codenamed as B515 is likely to share the components of the Ford Fiesta leading to relatively low price. The Ford EcoSport is supposed to come with the likes of Premium Rio SUV to fall under the B category.

The China bound Ford EcoSport mini could come with a 1.0L EcoBoost petrol engine. However, the engine options for the India-bound model are not yet evaluated. The rising petrol prices have led to the high demand of diesel cars. A 1.6 L diesel engine, while retaining the same fuel efficiency and the emission standards is equal to a 1.0 L EcoBoost petrol engine. Meaning, the Ford Motors might consider the Ford Fiesta’s 1.5 L diesel engine for the diesel variant of the Ford EcoSport Mini SUV.Vcommindia News
