In January Maruti’s first MPV-Ertiga will arrive

Maruti India will make its debut in the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) segment with Maruti Ertiga in January 2012. The leading automobile manufacturer of cars is expected to pull the wraps off the MPV Ertiga, which was displayed at the Auto Expo 2011, a concept car RIII. The expected price Maruti Ertiga is likely to be in the range of Rs 6 lakh-Rs 9 lakh to put in direct competition with Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo.

The other potential competitors Ertiga Maruti could be the recently launched Mahindra XUV 500, new Tata Aria, Mahindra Bolero and presidential.

The MPV is expected to offer a comfortable seating for 7 passengers, with reasonable interior space. However, according to the experts the MPV might lack the Innova level of interior space placing it in the mini MPV segment with 4.3 m in length and 2.7 m wheelbase. Maruti India is targeting the Maruti Ertiga as an Indian family car with its highly affordable price tag for an MPV. Vcommindia News
