Japanese auto sales rose for the first time since the March 11 disasters in September, as car makers improved their supply of vehicles to dealerships following a recovery in quake-hit production networks.
Sales of new cars, trucks and buses in Japan in September grew 1.7% from a year earlier to 313,790 vehicles, rising for the first time in 13 months, the Japan Automobile Dealers Association said on Monday.
The figures, which don't include sales of mini vehicles with engine capacities of 660 cubic centimeters or less, also reflect a low basis of comparison in the year-earlier month, when demand fell after the government axed its subsidies for fuel-efficient cars.Vcommindia News
