Hyundai and Kia Motors are committed these days to develop 10-speed automatic gearboxes. The 10 speed slush box that Hyundai and Kia are jointly developing will be used in the next generation 2012 Hyundai Genesis and Hyundai Equus sedans sometime in 2014. The move has come after the German transmission maker ZF unveiled a 9 speed automatic gearbox which will offer as high fuel economy as 16% and will be used in next generation front wheel drive BMW cars.
Hyundai Motor Group chairman Park Seong Hyon spoke about the new gearbox that is likely to be used in the Hyundai Genesis and Equus sedans. The gearbox 10 speed automatic will not only ensure the smooth delivery of power shifting to second division, but will also make better fuel economy. Like Hyundai i20 road diesel will cruise very frugal. Hyundai India was the first automaker to offer a six-speed transmission in the mass market, small cars in India with the opening of six-speed manual gearbox Hyundai i20 diesel.Vcommindia News
