Recently, a new service training centre has been opened by the Czech car maker Skoda in its hometown of Kosmonosy. The best part of this is that it is located near Skoda’s headquarters, is one of the most advanced of their service training centres, it combines the technical and business training of the brand’s importers and dealers from all over the world. Skoda has invested about EUR 6 million for setting up the new Service Training Centre while the EU Structural Fund subsidized EUR 2.6 million.
It is fitted with state of the art learning facilities, training and presentation facilities spread out on a five story building which was built and setup in fourteen months. Besides all the training rooms there is also an archive, a library and a body shop. The training programme emphasizes technology and processes, management and organization, IT and car body construction. To train 200 people every day the following facility can be used.
Skoda’s chairman of the board, Prof. Dr. H.C. Winfried Vahland, emphasized the significance of a qualified dealership network saying, “Following our sales record in 2011, we would like to continue to accelerate our expansion in the coming years. Competent and qualified partners are a key factor in sustained growth. Therefore, a growth campaign also requires a service campaign. Our new Service Training Centre marks an important turning point for a permanently strong and competent dealership network and another clear sign of the Skoda’s emergence.”
