A report from Swaraj Engines says that 24.27 per cent increase in net profit for the third quarter ended December 31, at Rs. 14.08 crore due to better sales. A net profit of Rs. 11.33 crore is posted by the company in the corresponding period last financial year.
It said that the total operating income during the third quarter also jumped by 26.98 percent to Rs. 117.58 crore from Rs. 92.60 crore in the year-ago period, Swaraj Engines said in a filing to the BSE. During the three-month period, engine supplies from the company went up by 16.10 percent to 14,273 units from 12,294 units in the same period in 2010-11.
It was mentioned that the company is at present expanding production capacity at its facility. "On expansion of annual capacity to 75,000 engines in two phases, the work is progressing well and it is expected that capacity of 60,000 engines per annum under the first phase would be available by the end of the current fiscal," the filing said.
