Consumers are asked by Chrysler to name new edition Jeep Grand Cherokee

At the Houston and Washington, D.C., auto shows Chrysler Group today unveiled a new, unnamed edition of its flagship Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV and asked viewers to come up with its name.

The all-black concept will be named by consumers through an online Jeep "Name My Ride" contest. In May the winning name will be announced. If the contest winner qualifies, he or she will win a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the automaker said.

The concept SUV features a platinum-chrome front-end and black-gloss 20-inch wheels and exterior treatments.

"Our new Grand Cherokee concept provides a completely new look -- one that is edgy and aggressive, and certainly different than any Grand Cherokee on the road today," Mike Manley, CEO of the Jeep Brand, said in a statement.Automobile News
