In the luxury class in Switzerland Aston Martin Rapide considered to be the best once more

The Aston Martin Rapide is once more the best car in the luxury class in Switzerland. For the third consecutive year, readers of the motoring magazine “Auto Illustrierte” crowned the four-door sports car of the English luxury manufacturer as the winner in the vote “The best cars 2012”.

For the past two years, the Rapide has prevailed against a strong field of competitors. This year the sports car received 26.9 percent of the readers’ votes, more than any other winner in class. Thus the Rapide defended its place well at the top of the podium again with a clear lead on the second and third placed contenders.

Jeffrey L Scott, Managing Director Aston Martin Lagonda of Europe, said at the award ceremony in Zurich on Wednesday evening: “We are proud that the Aston Martin Rapide has established itself fiercely in a strongly competitive market so successfully. This is shown also by this readers’ poll. Switzerland is traditionally one of the most important markets in Europe for Aston Martin. This past year we have closed successfully here. And our customers can again expect a lot from us in 2012.”

Aston Martin in Switzerland is represented by five dealerships: in Cadenazzo, Geneva, Safenwil, St. Gallen and Zurich. The Aston Martin Rapide was launched in the summer of 2010 and has since collected numerous awards from motoring publications as well as readers and design professionals worldwide. The reader’s choice “The best cars” of the magazine “Auto Illustrierte” was held this year for the 18th time, comprising of 311 models in 10 categories.
