0ver 19,000 unit sales in China in 2011 report by Infiniti reports

Popular auto maker from Japan Nissan group of company’s Infinity luxury vehicles reported that the company sold 19,075 vehicles in China in 2011. Despite the devastating Japanese earthquake last March, which adversely affected its supply chain, Infiniti still managed sales growth of over 60 percent.

There were 60 Infiniti dealerships active by the end of 2011, covering all major cities and regions in mainland China. According to Infiniti China General Manager Lü Zhengyu, the brand has ambitious plans to establish over 90 dealers by the end of this year, as well as increase sales by 50 percent. It was mentioned that Lü adds that Infiniti plans to introduce hybrid and long-wheelbase versions of its M series of luxury cars, as well as unveil a brand new "competitive" model.

The reports mentioned that despite the rumours about Infiniti manufacturing vehicles in China, the company has always denied any rumours regarding the issue. However, it was reported that the company has signed agreements to produce vehicles in Dalian, Liaoning still persist.
