In Desert Storm AMW trucks are there

Amw_trucks
Truck manufacturer Asia Motor Works (AMW) has entered the Maruti-Suzuki Desert Storm rally, which was flagged off from Maruti-Suzuki’s headquarters in Delhi.

The truck maker will be competing under the new ‘truck’ category, which has been introduced this year and will have four trucks participating in the endurance event. It will be the only truck maker taking part in the event, which means that isn't any real competition. According to Anirudh Bhulwalka, MD and CEO, AMW, “this event will be a true testament to our trucks formidable ability to remain reliable in the worst of conditions, where most of our vehicles operate usually.”

The company will have four trucks participating in the ‘endurance’ race. The trucks have been retrofitted with beefier suspensions, reinforced chassis and upgraded engines to take on the 3500km run through the deserts and rough roads of North India.

Apart from AMW trucks, the rally will see a total of 137 cars and 16 bikes with over 280 participants including the Mahindra XUV 500(driven by APRC driver Gaurav Gill), Maruti Swifts and Hero Impulse bikes as part of the rally. The rally will take the drivers across the Thar Desert, Rann of Kutch, Jaisalmer, Bhuj, Pokhran and will conclude at Ahmedabad on the 25th of February.
