"From here on, we will go on launching new vehicles under the LCVs category for every six months over the next few years. In the process, we want to continue to build and grow our business," said V Sumantran, non-executive vice-chairman of Ashok Leyland and Chairman of Nissan Ashok Leyland Powertrain.
The official further said, the Indian LCVs market is witnessing a huge increase in demand within the commercial vehicles segment and it accounts for almost 57 per cent.
Sumantran, who is in the city to inaugurate the second dealership of the joint venture - Malik Motors, said Ashok Leyland's first LCV 'Dost' has sold more than 5,000 units so far.
After the success of 2.5 ton Dost, the company is now preparing ground to launch two more LCVs - Style and Partner, apart from a CNG variant of Dost, he added.
