With starting price of Rs 34.4 lakhs Volvo launches new 2012 XC60

Swedish luxury car maker Volvo has unveiled the new generation model of its XC60 Crossover SUV in the global market. With the rising demand for diesel run luxury SUVs, the new version of XC60 model has been offered in a new diesel version, in a bid to capitalize on this high demand.

The price tag of the new car has been reduced as well, and now it is available in the price segment of Rs 34.4 lakhs to Rs 37.4 lakhs. The Volvo XC60 model is imported to the Indian market through CBU (completely built unit) route, attracting an import duty of over 100 percent.

Powered by a three cylinder turbo diesel engine the all new Volvo XC60 delivers a peak power of 163 Bhp along with a peak torque of 400 Nm torque. The powerful diesel engine of the car comes incorporated with a six speed automatic transmission along with an all wheel drive system.
Available in a new version with a new engine option, the Volvo XC60 will now be able to compete more promptly with the rivals like Audi Q5 and BMW X3.

Volvo, which currently has only 7 sales and service stations in the Indian auto market, is planning to expand its India operations with launch of new portfolio models and expansion of its sales and service network.Automobile News
