The designers and engineers of the Terrafugia flying car have given it a technical name - Transition Roadable Aircraft. It takes the foldable wings that remain tucked – in while car is running on road. The car takes just 30 seconds to convert in to a flying machine by spreading its wings. In a single run with tank full, the Terrafugia flying car can cover a distance of 460 miles at a speed of 110 miles per hour.
Speaking on the firm’s flying cars’ planned debut at the New York International Auto Expo, Terrafugia COO Anna Mracek Dietrich said, "The venue from which we can show the first practical street-legal airplane to the world, while meeting with the people who will be part of its commercial success in the years to come.
