Tata-nano-gallarys
Since the launch of Tata Nano,Tata Motors had been waiting for the country to realize the advantages of this compact low-cost car. It seems that the wait is finally over as the company sold more than 10,000 units of Nano in the last month. Elated by this development the company is starting to expand its export network which at present is limited to the markets like Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh that support right hand drive.

Tata Motors has recently announced that the company has started working on the Left Hand Drive option Tata Nano for other markets. The LHD markets that the company is targeting this year are parts of Africa, South America and South-East Asia. Tata Motors has a dedicated plant for Nano in Sanand Gujarat that has an installed capacity of 250,000 units but at present it is exploiting only a fraction of this capacity with 10,000 units a month.

The company expects to reach the break-even if the exports numbers hike up. Tata Motors is aiming at utilizing the full capacity of this plant by the second half of this fiscal year. The company is speculated to achieve this aim by rendering a diesel variant and a petrol variant with a bigger engine to the Nano series.Automobile News
