Toyota is considered as the third largest car manufacturer in the world and in India the company is working day and night to please its consumers. Toyota India is now offering automatic gearbox in the lower variants of Toyota Corolla Altis, in the past, the Japanese auto maker had launched the option of automatic transmission only in the top most variant of Altis only. Toyota Corolla Altis sedan has been one of the highest grossing products by Toyota across the world including India. The petrol engine powered Altis is still one of the best sellers in the D-segment of Indian car market. Lately, the D-segment of Indian car bazaar has seen a lot of growth and this seems to be the right time for Toyota to grab the opportunity. Previously, only the VL variant of Toyota Corolla Altis was jam-packed with numerous lavish features along with a choice of automatic gearbox. But, now the firm is offering the same transmission in the lower G variant of the sedan, which is known as G (HV). However, on the other hand, the firm has removed numerous luxury features from G (HV) variant of Altis, including leather upholstery; electric seats, retractable rear sun shade, keyless entry, xenon headlamps, and half wood trim on the steering wheel and start/stop button. Besides the automatic transmission in the G (HV) variant of Toyota Corolla Altis, one will get full leather steering wheel accompanied with touch screen audio system with Bluetooth connectivity. The improved and enhancedToyota Corolla Altis G (HV) variant will come with a price tag of Rs. 13.7 lakh, which is Rs. 1.25 lakh cheaper than the high end VL variant. The Toyota Corolla Altis VL variant with automatic gearbox comes for a hefty price of Rs. 14.9 lakh. Toyota should now also introduce the automatic gearbox option in the diesel version as well. With the soaring demand for diesel cars in India, the automatic variant will certainly bring some good revenue to the firm.
