Maruti’s sales driven by New Dzire in February

Good news for India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India! The sales of the firm increased by 6.54% at 1, 18,949 units (including exports) in the month of February 2012. The firm had sold about 1, 11,645 units (including exports) in February 2011. This month, Maruti Suzuki India has managed to record highest in house sales till now in this financial year at 1,07,653 units(excluding exports) , which was 101543 units (excluding exports) last year in the same period, posting a growth of 6.02% in February.

In the same way, company’s exports have also gone up by 11.82% at 11296 units in February this year from 10102 units in same period last year. The total passenger car sales in India have increased by 7.13% to 94118 units in January 2012 from 87851 units in January 2011. On the other hand, the sales of Maruti’s mini car segment, which comprise of Maruti A-Star, Maruti 800, Maruti Wagon R and Maruti Alto tumbled down by 8.24% at 49104 units this month from 53,515 units in February 2011.

The compact car segment of the company includes Maruti Swift, Maruti Ritz and Maruti Estilo; saw a rise in sales of about 31.06%. The sales of new Swift Dzire have gone up by 58.78% as well, which is pretty impressive. But at the same time, Maruti SX4 saw a sip in sales by 42.47%, which comes out to be 2033 units from 3534 units.Automobile News
